Copywriter, editor and SEO, AEO and GEO specialist in Maastricht
I'm Nicci Severens, a freelance copywriter, editor and SEO, AEO and GEO specialist since 2022, with three books to my name. Here you can read what I do, who I do it for and what it has delivered so far.
Writing
Writing is the common thread in my work. I contributed to three books and have been creating content for companies and brands for years: from web copy and articles to interviews, campaigns and newsletters. I can make complex subjects clear, find the right tone and know when a text above all does not need more words.

SEO, AEO & GEO
The way we search is changing. Google is no longer the only place you want to be found, and there's no getting around AI anymore. I combine SEO with AEO and GEO, so content not only performs well in search engines but also gets picked up by AI. Without losing sight of the human reader.
Websites & campagnes
I love building something from scratch. A website, a campaign or a completely new story for a brand. I help shape the strategy and concept, look for the angle that makes the difference and carry it all the way through to execution. No standard format just because that's how it's always done.

Web copy
Pages that explain what you do, who for, and why someone should come to you. Clear enough for a customer, structured enough for Google.
Blogs and articles
Articles that answer a real question and show that you know what you're talking about. Not ten tips any language model could come up with.
Writing
Good copy starts with a good conversation, with you, with your customer or with the skipper at the helm.
For Ben Steenstra I edited Start Giving a Damn and its sequel A Damn Good Business. For Holland Sail's Vloot vol Verhalen I interviewed skippers and wrote up their stories. I have also written blogs, web copy and newsletters for Mickey Blue and Language Partners, among others.
Interviews and stories
My books
From conversation to story, like the skipper portraits in Vloot vol Verhalen. I ask the questions, write it up and find the images to go with it.
Keyword research
Finding out which words your customer searches with and what question lies behind them. One search intent per page, so your pages don't compete with each other.
Structure and markup
A logical heading structure, internal links and structured data that describe what is actually on the page. No more, no less.
One story everywhere
Your website, LinkedIn, Google Business Profile and other profiles tell the same story, so search engines and AI models don't have to guess who you are.
SEO, AEO and GEO
Beautiful copy that nobody finds is a diary.
Everything I think
Websites
A new site, or an existing one that needs to do better. I help think through structure and navigation, write the copy and put it into the CMS myself.
Campaigns
LinkedIn- en Google Ads-campagnes met één doel per advertentieset en een budget dat je vooraf kent.
Websites & campaigns
A website is only finished when it brings in enquiries. Until then, I keep tinkering.
At Language Partners I manage the WordPress site and I'm turning a site for students into a site for HR and training managers. I also run the Google Ads and LinkedIn campaigns there, including conversion tracking. Before that I worked on the website of Become Damn Good, where I also took care of the online course.
Measuring
Get in touch
Conversions that count real enquiries, not page visits. Anyone who has ever had that set up wrong will understand why it gets its own block.
Frequently asked questions
Three questions about being found in Google and AI, with a short answer.
What is the difference between SEO, AEO and GEO?
SEO is about your position in Google's search results. AEO is about the direct answer, such as a featured snippet or the answer from a voice assistant. GEO is about being cited as a source in the answers of AI models. If your SEO basics are in order, you've already done most of the work for AEO and GEO.
Do I need separate pages for AI?
How can I tell whether AI mentions me?
No. According to Google, AI search results don't require special markup or separate pages. What does help: clear pages with one topic, first-hand experience and facts that are correct. Your site also needs to be accessible to crawlers such as OAI-SearchBot.
Ask ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity the questions your customers ask and see whether you get mentioned, and with which source. If you don't, you know straight away where to start.
Everything I think
Curious how findable you are?
A website that Google and AI don't understand is a beautiful shop window in an alley without a street sign. I make sure search engines and AI models find you, understand you and recommend you, so it finally gets as busy inside as it deserves. Curious where your sign is missing? I'd be happy to find out with you.
